I am a teacher educator and researcher in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). My areas of specialisation are computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and language teacher education. My research interests include technology-enhanced language teaching (TELT), computer-mediated communication (CMC), mobile-assisted language learning (MALL), AI-powered language teaching, digital literacy, academic English writing, and language teacher development. I have developed a number of CALL applications, published extensively in the field of CALL, and conducted seminars and workshops around the world. I work as Professor of Applied Linguistics and TESOL in the School of Education at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), Australia. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise higher degree research students at UniSQ. I serve as the President of the Asia-Pacific Association for Computer-Assisted Language Learning (APACALL), Director of the Technology-Enhanced Language Teaching Research Network (TELTRN), Editor of the APACALL Book Series, and Chair of the APACALL Online Symposium 2024. My recent books include Insights into Digital Literacy in Language Teaching, Teacher Development in Technology-Enhanced Language Teaching, Technology-Enhanced Language Teaching in Action, and Online Language Teaching in Action. |
