I am a teacher educator and researcher in Applied Linguistics and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). My areas of specialisation are computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and language teacher development. My research interests include second/foreign language teaching, computer-mediated communication, web-based language learning, mobile-assisted language learning, digital literacy, and teacher training. I have developed a number of CALL applications, published extensively in the field of CALL and conducted seminars and workshops around the world. I work as an Associate Professor in Applied Linguistics & TESOL at the School of Education in the Faculty of Business, Education, Law and Arts at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Australia. I teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise higher degree research students at USQ. I am the President of the Asia-Pacific Association for Computer-Assisted Language Learning (APACALL), Director of the Technology-Enhanced Language Learning Research Network (TELLRN), Editor of the APACALL Book Series and Chair of the APACALL Webinar Series. My recent books are Teacher Development in Technology-Enhanced Language Teaching, Context-Specific Computer-Assisted Language Learning: Research, Development and Practice and Technology-Enhanced Language Teaching in Action. |
